April 13, 1929 — November 19, 2022
Billie Lou Lund passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Mom, your love, selflessness, and enthusiastic support for all that we have been involved in throughout our lives will be deeply missed.
Billie was born on April 13, 1929 to loving parents, Leona and Willard R. Blanch. She grew up on the West Weber family farm with her parents, brother and two sisters. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Billie attended West Weber School and graduated from Weber High School. After high school, Billie enjoyed volunteering for McKay-Dee Hospital.
Billie married Grant F. Lund on May 7, 1948. They had three daughters. Billie had a granddaughter Alisha. Billie and Alisha were extremely close. She loved her family and was so proud of their accomplishments.
Billie was an avid player on many teams and won several trophies for her league play. She enjoyed shopping, fashion, movies, dining out and spending time with family and friends. While raising her daughters, Billie taught fashion, modeling and etiquette classes at the Classic Modeling and Finishing School in Ogden. She was also an amazing seamstress and did many sewing projects for her children, friends and relatives.
Billie worked full time for several years at ZCMI in Ogden as Floor Manager. When the Weinstock clothing store opened in the Ogden City mall, Billie was hired as an area manager and worked there for several years. She then worked at the clothing store Nordstrom as a sales associate and continued to work at Nordstrom for 17 years. She loved working with the public and all of her wonderful colleagues.
While working at Nordstrom, Billie met five colleagues who became her best friends for life. After Nordstrom closed in Ogden, they met every Tuesday for lunch, traveled together and celebrated holidays and birthdays with special events. Our family would like to sincerely thank Brenda, Jackie, Bonnie, Scotty and Jean for being amazing friends to our mother over the years. You have all brought him so much joy and happiness.
The family would also like to thank Mom’s wonderful neighbors and friends who, over the years, watched over our Mom and helped her with tasks she was unable to do on her own. Thank you all for your sincere kindness and special friendships.
The family would also like to thank Enhabit Hospice, Enhabit Home Care and all the staff at The Lodge Assisted Living. Thank you all for your tireless compassionate care, companionship, and genuine concern for Mom’s comfort and well-being. We appreciate the care you gave to our mother during the last years of her life more than we can express.
Billie is survived by her two daughters, Linda (Bill) Panunzio and Cindy Lund; his granddaughter, Alisha (Dennis) Lin; and his sister, Mary Ann Hipwell. She was predeceased by her husband, Grant F. Lund; his daughter, Judy Ann Lund; father, Willard Blanch; mother, Leona Blanch; brother, Bud Blanch; and her sister, Dorothy Roddom.
